Sunday School

There are classes for every age group: Pre-Primary (4’s & 5’s), Primary (1st – 3rd Grade), Junior (4th – 6th Grade), Teens, Homebuilders, Ladies and Auditorium classes.  God’s Word is central in every class because it is only God’s Word that gives us the truth necessary for Christian growth.  Each class is staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers who will help make the Sunday School hour instructive and impactful.

Children’s Church

We believe that children are an important part of our church, and it is our desire to help train and equip them for the future.  We want our children to love church now so that they will love church in the future.  After the children join the adults for the song service in the main auditorium, all children from Age 4 thru the 6th grade are then dismissed for their own church service where they will hear an age-appropriate Bible lesson, sing songs, play games and enjoy a snack.

Nursery

Loving nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment. Parents can have peace of mind while they attend one of the adult Bible classes or the worship services. Nursery is provided for newborns through three year olds.

Music

Music is an integral part of our church and our services here at Maranatha Baptist Church. We believe in an outward expression of worship and thanksgiving to the Lord. The Bible says in Psalm 92:1, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high.” We desire to please the Lord and exalt His precious name together in our music.  Our music is conservative and Christ-honoring and does not imitate the world’s philosophy of music.

We have a choir for every age group. Our children’s choir meets every Sunday after the evening service. They practice songs, sing in church once a month and sing for cantatas and other special events.

Teens

Today’s teenagers have many challenges and temptations in front of them. They are continually encouraged to challenge authority and to be their own person. Many times parents are at a loss as to what to do and where to go next. Since God has given the responsibility to parents to raise their children to honor the Lord, our goal is to assist parents in producing spiritually mature teenagers who become spiritually mature adults. Our goal is not to entertain but to educate and reinforce the work that should already be happening in the home. We cannot take the place of parents in training their children to serve the Lord. We are simply a tool to assist families in working toward Christ-likeness in the life of their teenagers.

Our teenagers are challenged from the Word of God in the following areas:  their personal walk with Christ, their burden for the lost, and their relationship with others, especially understanding that it is more important to be friends at this age than to spend countless hours focusing on one young man or one young lady.  In order to help parents in this endeavor, we offer some of the following ministries and activities for our Teens:

S.N.A.C. (Sunday Night After Church) – A once-a-month fellowship held on a Sunday night after the evening service.  The teens gather together for a light-hearted time of Food, Fun & Fellowship.

T.L.C. (Teens Loving their Church) – A couple of times a year, the Teens will spend a Saturday helping our church, especially its Senior Saints, with miscellaneous chores and housework.

Teen War – One week each year, during the summer, we have an evangelistic outreach for the teenagers in our community.  We play competitive games, preach the Word of God, and prepare delicious food for the teenagers in the hopes of bringing many to the Saviour.

Master Club (Age 4 thru 6th Grade)

The purpose of Master Club is to evangelize children, to disciple them for spiritual growth, to teach them God’s truth, to train them to serve Jesus Christ, and to provide them with multiple opportunities to serve the local church. We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 where we have rally time, book time, Bible time, game time and snack time.  The following is a breakdown of the Master Club classes:
